Procaine Penicillin G and Dihydrostreptomycin Sulphate Injection
Composition:
Contains per ml:
Procaine Penicillin G 200,000 IU.
Dihydrostreptomycin Sulphate 200 mg.
Indications:
Effective against arthritis, mastitis, and various infections in the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tracts. This potent formula targets penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin-sensitive micro-organisms, including Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Listeria, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus spp., in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.
Dosage and Administration:
For intramuscular administration: 20:20
Cattle: Administer 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight for 3 days.
Calves, goats, sheep, and swine: Administer 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight for 3 days.
Ensure to shake well before use. Do not administer more than 20 ml in cattle, more than 10 ml in swine, and more than 5 ml in calves, sheep, and goats per injection site.
Administered via deep intramuscular injection: 20:25
Observe normal aseptic precautions.
Recommended dosage: Procaine penicillin at 8 mg/kg body weight and dihydrostreptomycin sulphate at 10 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 ml per 25 kg body weight. Treatment should be administered once daily for up to three consecutive days. Maximum dose volume per site: 15 ml for horses, 6 ml for cattle, 3 ml for sheep, and 1.5 ml for pigs.
Side Effects:
Therapeutic doses of procaine penicillin G may cause abortion in sows.
Ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, or nephrotoxicity.
Hypersensitivity reactions.
Withdrawal Times:
Kidney: 45 days.
Meat: 21 days.
Milk: 3 days.
