Procaine penicillin G and Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate Injection
Composition:
Contains per ml:
Procaine penicillin G 200,000 IU
Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate 200 mg
Indications:
Specifically formulated to combat arthritis, mastitis, and a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract infections. This potent solution targets pathogens sensitive to penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin, including but not limited to Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Listeria, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus spp., across various livestock such as calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.
Dosage and administration:
For intramuscular administration:
Cattle: Administer 1 ml per 20 kg body weight daily for 3 days.
Calves, goats, sheep, and swine: Administer 1 ml per 10 kg body weight daily for 3 days.
Ensure to shake well before use. Do not administer more than 20 ml in cattle, 10 ml in swine, and 5 ml in calves, sheep, and goats per injection site.
Administer by deep intramuscular injection.
Maintain standard aseptic precautions.
The recommended dosage is 8 mg/kg body weight of procaine penicillin and 10 mg/kg body weight of dihydrostreptomycin sulphate, equivalent to 1 ml per 25 kg body weight. Administer treatment once daily for up to three consecutive days. Maximum dose per site: 15 ml for horses, 6 ml for cattle, 3 ml for sheep, and 1.5 ml for pigs.
Side effects:
Administering therapeutic dosages of procaine penicillin G may lead to abortion in sows.
Potential for ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, or nephrotoxicity.
Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Withdrawal times:
For kidney: 45 days.
For meat: 21 days.
For milk: 3 days.
