Oxytetracycline
Indications:
This powerful Oxytetracycline Injection is specially formulated to treat diseases in cattle, sheep, and goats caused by susceptible organisms. It effectively combats pneumonia, shipping fever complex (Pasteurella spp and Haemophilus spp), infectious bovine kerato-conjunctivitis (pinkeye) caused by Moraxella bovis, foot rot, diphtheria (Fusobacterium necrophorum), bacterial enteritis (scours) due to Escherichia coli, wooden tongue (Actinobacillus lignierisii), leptospirosis (Leptospira pomoma), wound infections, and acute metritis from staphylococci and streptococci strains sensitive to Oxytetracycline.
Dosage and Administration:
For cattle: Administer for bronchopneumonia, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, metritis, mastitis, septicaemia, puerperal infections, and secondary bacterial infections primarily caused by viruses.
For sheep and goats: Effective for treating infections in the respiratory, urogenital, gastrointestinal tracts, hooves, mastitis, and infected wounds.
Method: Administer by deep intramuscular injection. The recommended dose is 20mg per kg of bodyweight.
Withdrawal Period:
Ensure a withdrawal period of 14 days for meat and edible tissues, and 3 days for milk after the last treatment.
Warnings:
Do not inject more than 20ml at one site in cattle, and no more than 5ml in sheep and goats.
If the total volume exceeds these amounts, divide the dose and inject it at multiple sites.
Never dilute this medication.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C (77°F), protected from light.
Packing:
Available in 50ml, 100ml, 250ml, and 500ml vials.
Shelf Life:
3 years from the date of manufacture.
