Composition:
Contains per gram powder:
Colistin sulfate 100 mg
Carrier ad.  Up to 1 g
Indications
Colistin has a potent bactericidal action against gram negative bacteria especially enterobacteria and more particularly Escherichia coli. This product is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by colistin sensitive bacteria, like E. coli, Haemophilus and Salmonella spp., in calves, goats, poultry, sheep. It is also efficient to control obstinate dysentery that is resist to other antibiotic drugs.
Posology and method of administration
Calves, goats and sheep: Twice daily 1gram per 80 kg body weight for 5-7 days.
Poultry and swine:1kg per 4000-8000 litres dringking water for 5-7days.
1kg per 2000-4000kg feed for 5-7 days.
Note: for pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.
Contra-indications, warnings, etc
Hypersensitivity to Colistin sulfate.
Administration to animals with a serious impaired renal function.
Administration to aminals with an active microbiological digestion.
Side effects
Hypersensitivity reactions
Colistin should only be administered with great caution in animals with renal dysfunction or decreased urinary output (as in shock) since the consequent retention of drug will increase potential for toxicity.
Prolonged administration of an anti-infective may result in the development of superinfection due to organisms resistant to that anti-infective.
Withdrawal Times:  
Meat: 7 days.
