Description:

 

Sulfadimidine Injection

 

Sulfadimidine acts as a bactericidal agent against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including Corynebacterium, E. coli, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Pasteurella, Salmonella, and Streptococcus spp. It affects bacterial purine synthesis, leading to a blockade.

 

Indications:

 

For gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital infections, mastitis, and panaritium caused by sulfadimidine-sensitive microorganisms in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.

 

Contraindications:

 

Avoid in cases of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or in animals with severe renal and/or liver impairment or blood dyscrasias.

 

Side Effects:

 

Possible hypersensitivity reactions.

 

Dosage:

 

For subcutaneous and intramuscular administration:

 

• General: 3 - 6 ml per 10 kg body weight on the first day, followed by 3 ml per 10 kg body weight for 2 - 5 days.


 

 

Withdrawal Times:

 

• Meat: 10 days


• Milk: 4 days


 

 

Warning:

 

Avoid concurrent use with iron and other metals.
