Diminazene aceturate, a member of the aromatic diamidines group, is effective against babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis. Vitamin B6 and B12 help combat anemia by stimulating red blood cell production.
Treats babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis in camels, cattle, cats, dogs, goats, horses, sheep, and swine.
Avoid in animals with known hypersensitivity to diminazene or phenazone, and those with impaired renal or hepatic function.
Possible hypersensitivity reactions, salivation, sweating, and tremors. In dogs, multiple doses may lead to severe nervous signs and brain lesions. Liver, kidney, heart, and muscle changes can occur after repeated doses.
Administer deep intramuscularly. Dissolve 2.37g powder in 15ml sterile water for injection. Give 1ml per 20kg body weight.
Meat: 21 days. Milk: 4 days.
