Diminazene aceturate, belonging to the group of aromatic diamidines, is effective against babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis in various animals. Vitamin B6 and B12 help combat the anaemic effects of the disease by stimulating red blood cell formation.
Treatment of babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis in camels, cattle, cats, dogs, goats, horses, sheep, and swine.
Avoid administration to animals with known hypersensitivity to diminazene and/or phenazone or those with impaired renal and/or hepatic function.
Possible hypersensitivity reactions, salivation, sweating, and tremors. Multiple therapeutic doses may lead to severe nervous signs, haemorrhagic, and malacic lesions in various organs.
For deep intramuscular administration. Dissolve 2.37 (23.7) grams of powder in 15 (150) ml of sterile water to prepare an injectable solution. Administer at 1 ml per 20 kg body weight.
