Description:
Closantel is active against fasciola and hypoderma spp, which can be used in combination with benzimidazoles or levamisole.

Indications
This product is a kind of helminthic. It is active against fasciola hepatica, gastrointestinal eelworms and larvae of arthropods. It is mainly indicated for diseases caused by fasciola hepatica and gastrointestinal eelworms in cattle and sheep, estriasis of sheep and etc. Antihelminthic drugs. It is mainly used for the control of Fasciola hepatica, gastrointestinal nematode disease and sheep nasal myiasis in cattle and sheep.

Side effects: 
Overdoses can cause colic, coughing, excessive salivation, excitation, hyperpnoea, lachrymation, spasms, sweating and vomiting.  
Administration and Dosage
Subcutaneous or intramuscular injections of a single dose of 2.5 to 5mg/kg bodyweight for cattle and 5 to 10 mg/kg body weight for sheep.

Pharmacological actions
This products can expel the Fasciola hepatica, haemogregarina contorts and some arthropod inside cattle and sheep. Yet has no
effect on Paramphistomes. It can expel 90% of Haemonchus, Bunostomum, Oesophagostomum. Certain insect strains of haemogregarina contortus may have tolerance to this product. Closantel Sodium can well expel the Canine Hookworms, but not available to larva. Italso prevents the horses' infection of normal strongylid. Morever, it 100% kills Oestrus ovis(period 1,2,3) and well expelstorsalo(period.). Its mechanism of anti parasite is by increasing the Mitochondrial permeability of parasite, uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation so as to kill and expel the parasite.

Adverse Reactions
Injections are stimulating to some topical tissues.
