Diminazene aceturate, a member of the aromatic diamidines group, is effective against babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis. It is supplemented with Vitamin B6 and B12 to counteract the disease's anaemic effects by promoting red blood cell production.
Recommended for treating babesiosis, piroplasmosis, and trypanosomiasis in camels, cattle, cats, dogs, goats, horses, sheep, and swine.
Avoid administering to animals with known hypersensitivity to diminazene and/or phenazone, as well as those with impaired renal and/or hepatic function.
Possible hypersensitivity reactions, salivation, sweating, and tremors. Multiple therapeutic doses may lead to severe nervous signs and significant haemorrhagic and malacic lesions in various organs.
For deep intramuscular injection. Dissolve 2.37 (23.7) grams of powder in 15 (150) ml of sterile water to prepare an injectable solution. Administer at a rate of 1 ml per 20 kg body weight.
Meat: 21 days. Milk: 4 days.
Store in a cool, dry place below 30ºC, protected from light.
