Procaine penicillin G and Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate Injection
Composition:
Contains per ml:
Procaine penicillin G 200 000 IU.
Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate 200 mg.
Indications:
This powerful formulation is designed to combat arthritis, mastitis, and infections of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tracts. It targets a wide range of penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin-sensitive microorganisms such as Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Listeria, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus spp. Ideal for use in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.
Dosage and Administration:
For optimal results, administer intramuscularly: 20:20
Cattle: 1 ml per 20 kg body weight for 3 days.
Calves, goats, sheep, and swine: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight for 3 days.
Ensure thorough shaking before use. Do not exceed 20 ml per site in cattle, 10 ml in swine, and 5 ml in calves, sheep, and goats.
Administer via deep intramuscular injection. 20:25
Maintain strict aseptic conditions during administration.
The recommended dosage is 8mg/kg body weight of procaine penicillin combined with 10mg/kg of dihydrostreptomycin sulphate, equating to 1ml per 25kg body weight. Administer once daily for up to three consecutive days. The maximum dose per site is 15 ml for horses, 6 ml for cattle, 3 ml for sheep, and 1.5 ml for pigs.
Side Effects:
Therapeutic dosages of procaine penicillin G may lead to abortion in sows.
Potential ototoxicity, neurotoxicity, or nephrotoxicity.
Possible hypersensitivity reactions.
Withdrawal Times:
Kidney: 45 days.
Meat: 21 days.
Milk: 3 days.
