(For Veterinary Use Only) Composition: Contains per g: Ceftiofur Sodium 50 mg. Excipients ad 1g Description: This product is a kind of antimicrobial agent and is mainly used in the treatment of infection in domestic fowls and animals caused by sensitive bacteria. Indications: For swine , sheep and goat it is used in the treatment of intestinal infections caused by escherichia coli and early deaths in baby pigs caused by bacteria. respiratory diseases (swine bacterial pneumonia) caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, pasteurella multocida, salmonella cholerasuis, streptococcus suis and etc. For chicken it is used in the prevention of early deaths caused by escherichia coli. For cattle and horse it is used in treatment of foul feet & podogram caused by fusobacterium necrophorum or melanin-producing bacteroids, respiratory diseases caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa, pasteurella multocida or hemophilus somnus and uteritis after labor or mastitis in milk cows caused by clostridium, gram negative anaerobe or purulent bacteria. It is also used in cows in stages of lactation. Contra indications: Do not use in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to ceftiofur or other beta-lactamines. Dosage and administration Intramuscular use. The solution for injection is to be reconstituted with 20 ml of water for injections for the 1 g presentation and with 80 ml of water for injections for the 4 g presentation. Rapid addition of solvent will give best results. Cattle: - For respiratory disease 1 mg ceftiofur (as sodium) per kg bodyweight per day for 3 to 5 days, i.e. 1 ml of reconstituted solution per 50 kg bodyweight per day for 3 to 5 days. - For interdigital necrobacillosis (foul in the foot rot) 1 mg ceftiofur (as sodium) per kg bodyweight per day for 3 days, i.e. 1 ml of reconstituted solution per 50 kg bodyweight per day for 3 days. Pigs: 3 mg ceftiofur (as sodium) per kg bodyweight per day for 3 days, i.e. 1 ml of reconstituted solution per 16 kg bodyweight per day for 3 days. The dose should be given once daily at 24 hour intervals.Do not administer more than 10 ml per injection site. Withdrawal times: Meat and offal: - Cattle: 2 days - Pigs: 2 days Milk: zero hours SHELF LIFE: 3 years STORAGE: Protect from light and store in a cool dry place and below 30ºC.
