Enrofloxacin Injection 10% (For Veterinary Use Only) COMPOSITION Enrofloxacin100mg Excipientq.s. 1ml PROPERTIES The chemical name of this product is enrofloxacin and the major components are enrofloxacin etc. This product is a kind of yellow sticky transparent or subtransparent liquid. Precipitation can be formed after long time standing. PHARMACOLOGY This product is a kind of high density long-acting controlled released transparent formulation. Its elimination half life (t1/2) in pigs is 24.6 hours. The drug effect can last for 72 hour. The neutral aqueous phase formulation is with rather small irritability. INDICATIONS It is indicated for infections caused by various kinds of sensitive bacteria or mixed infections.
Yellow scour of newborn pigs (under 7 days old) and white scour (under 1 mouth old) caused by E.coil
Hemorrhagic enteritis, diarrhea, alimentary toxicosis, typhoid fever or paratyphoid fever caused by sensitive bacteria, as well as secondary infections caused by epidemic diarrhea.
Common scour, lamb dysentery and pasteurellosis caused by sensitive bacteria.
Swine streptococcosis and hydropsy caused by E.Coli.
Swine enzootic pneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, pneumonia and bronchitis.
White diarrhea, colibacillosis, fowl cholera and chronic respiratory disease.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE Intramuscular injection, a single dose of 0.1ml/kg body weight for cattle, sheep, pigs, fowls and deer, and 0.2ml/kg body weight for dogs and rabbits for one treatment period. Curative effect can be achieved after one injection. For severe infections one more injection can be added 24 hours after the first injection. Ill animals with serious dehydration can be treated concurredtly with oral rehydration salt. Halve the dosage for prophylactic treatments. PRECAUTIONS
In cold conditions crystals are easily precipitated, which dissolves after heating and the curative effect of the product is not affected.
It has synergic effects when used in combined treatment with sulfanilamides. When used in combined treatment with other antibiotics and chemical antibiotics or antipyretics, turbidities are often found in this product. The drugs can be injected separately and improved curative effects can be achieved.
